We arrange more than 30,000 bus journeys in Halland every day. The operators with whom we have agreements do more than 1 million Swedish miles a year for us. Moreover, there is all the traffic which is booked as well as the train traffic on Västkust-, Viskadals- and Halmstad-Nässjöbanan.

In order to adjust supply to need, we have a summer and a winter time table in the towns of Halmstad, Falkenberg and Varberg. From the towns, the traffic in the surrounding countryside covers most of the county. In Kungsbacka we have an agreement with Västtrafik AB regarding the traffic.

Hallandstrafiken has approx. 70 co-workers working for the public transport in Halland – they plan and develop the traffic with buses, trains and booked vehicles,
mobility transports, environmental work, IT solutions, information and marketing. Moreover, Hallandstrafiken is also the reservation centre for mobility transports and hospital journeys in the municipalities of Laholm, Halmstad, Falkenberg and Varberg.
Co-ordination and co-operation are our key words for the work we do. We continuously investigate travel needs and attitudes with our customers in order to create and adapt services, times, etc that will fit most of them.

Hallandstrafiken is the main organiser for public transport in the county of Halland. In Laholm, Falkenberg and Varberg we are also main operator for mobility services (locally and nationwide) and other types of booked traffic. Main operator for mobility services means, among other things, that we are responsible for licensing.

Swebus is our largest operator. The current agreement is valid until June 2010. Through this agreement, Swebus is in charge of traffic operation, traffic planning and local information and marketing.
